During David's second year of business school, he met the love of his life, Melissa Black, at an orientation event. They became fast friends and soon after started dating. After a 3 year courtship, David married Melissa in Napa in June 2000. David was not someone who shed tears often, but he cried at their wedding. They moved into their first house together in San Carlos. David rejoined McKinsey and Company, this time in their Palo Alto office. After only 5 years, David was elected a Partner in 2003. A s one McKinsey colleague and friend put it, David was a partner who commanded respect without losing his sense of humor and fun. David and Melissa have four beautiful daughters. Katrina and Caroline are fraternal twins who are almost 7 years old; Sierra is 5; and Annika is 14 months. David was an amazing father who loved spending time with his girls. Some of their favorite activites were reading books, riding bikes, baking, and speaking Czech together. The girls adored their Dad; when Tata came in the front door, you just had to hope you were not standing the way. David loved his daughters and his wife more than anything in the world; he easily fit 90 years worth of love into his 37 years.
