David was the very first person in our class that I met at the Stanford GSB. I arrived at an orientation event at the Oasis, affectionately referred to as the O, and known for its casual atmosphere, mediocre food, and “comfortable” décor. David had already arrived, and when I walked up to him, he beat me to “hello.” He wore his classic grin, and easily broke into conversation. I can no longer remember what we spoke about, but at your first orientation event it didn’t really matter. What mattered was that I found a friendly, outgoing guy who immediately made me feel at ease.
