As I remember it, I was talking to Melissa at an LPF, whom I'd just met. David saw us talking and came by. I can't know for sure, but it might have been the first time he met Melissa. He really enjoyed talking to her, and his eyes were all for her. I could sort of see that he was smitten by her, so I found a way to leave him to talk to her without me in the middle. David seemed so taken with Melissa. He was so kind with her. I really was not surprised when I much later learned they would be getting married. I am happy for the years they had together and the absolutely beautiful family they brought into this world, whom I had the privilege to meet at our class's 10th Reunion picnic. I am so sorry for his loss, and I will smile at the memory of him meeting his soulmate, Melissa.
